Gina – Office Manager
Gina brings over twenty years of experience in the dental field to her role as an office manager with The Periodontal Specialists, a position she has held since 2007.
She works to create a warm and welcoming environment where each patient is given top-priority treatment. Through our thorough consultation process, Gina provides detailed treatment and financial plans to address any questions a patient may have.
In her free time, Gina stays very active working out, rollerblading, playing sports and traveling to experience different cultures.
Ana – Level II, Certified Dental Assistant / Dental Administration
Ana is a certified dental assistant (CDAII) who has been putting smiles on her patient’s faces for over 30 years by showing them exceptional care both during and after every dental procedure.
Prior to joining The Periodontal Specialists in 1997, she worked at the dental clinic at Scarborough General Hospital, assisting dentists who catered to handicapped patients.
Her primary responsibility is to assist our periodontists in every aspect of dental surgery, including sinus lifts, dental implants, bone regeneration and connective tissues grafting. She keeps up to date with the latest dental procedures and technology through seminars and continuing education.
Beyond the office, she loves spending time with her family, swimming and playing sports together. Her Sundays are dedicated to singing in her church choir and doing community service work.
Joanne – Dental Administrator & Treatment Coordinator
Joanne brings over 36 years of experience in the dental field, with a career built on care, knowledge, and dedication to patients.
She began as a Certified Dental Assistant Level 2 for 18 years. She then took on the role of Treatment Plan and Financial Coordinator, a position she has held for another 18 years.
Joanne’s passion is structured on aiding patients to feel supported and confident in their choices, whether in their health or everyday life.
Outside of work, she enjoys staying active through weight training, walking, and skating. She also enjoys traveling, exploring a variety of cultures and cuisines with her family – a reflection of her commitment to a balanced lifestyle.
Lynda – Registered Nurse
Lynda RN CCRN BA is a registered nurse who joined the Periodontal Specialists in 2013 after 23 years in the nursing profession with a background in cardiothoracic surgery and critical care/emergency nursing.
She promotes patient health, safety, education, and comfort. Lynda’s main goal is quality care before, during, and after your surgery. Lynda encourages patients who are considering sedation when choosing the Periodontal Specialists to not hesitate in contacting her prior to surgery with their questions about the procedure.
Outside of nursing, Lynda enjoys cooking, playing soccer, and spending time with her family.
Lyda – Registered Nurse
Lyda is a registered nurse who joined the team in 2020 with over 30 years in the nursing profession, specializing in cardiac, medical, and emergency nursing.
She takes pride in providing optimal care for her patients. She thrives on challenges and learning new and innovative techniques in this constantly ever-changing world. Educating patients and their families is of utmost importance whilst delivering safe, precise, and swift nursing care to her patients.
Dedicating time to her children and family is paramount. When not working, Lyda enjoys shopping, hiking, and traveling. She’s also an avid Toronto Maple Leaf and Raptors fan.
Yuki – Level II, Certified Dental Assistant
Yuki is a level II dental assistant with NDAEB certificate and over 16 years of experience.
Yuki’s dedication is evident in her approach, focusing on patient comfort and care. She takes pride in her work and commitment to assisting various surgical procedures.
Outside of the office, Yuki has special love for cooking and culinary arts. She is the happiest outdoors and spends her spare time camping and hiking with her husband and son across the regions.
Lisa – Registered Dental Hygienist
Lisa is an expanded duties dental hygienist with 20 years of experience. She is a proud graduate of George Brown College and York University and is a strong believer in lifelong learning.
While Lisa is passionate about helping patients on their journey to optimal oral health, she is also very rewarded by the rapport that she builds with them on an ongoing basis.
Outside the office, Lisa enjoys her family, riding horses, and being an outdoor enthusiast. She is also a Reiki practitioner and volunteers at a local hospice.
Maheen – Registered Dental Hygienist
Maheen has over 15 years of experience as a clinician, teacher and is dedicated to making a difference in her patients’ lives by providing exemplary dental hygiene care. She knows that it takes more than just good technique to be a great dental hygienist. It takes commitment, understanding, and most importantly, a genuine interest in patients’ health and safety.
She is a member of numerous organizations, including Canadian Dental Hygienist Association, Past President of Ontario Dental Hygienist Association, served as a Council member for the College of Dental Hygienist of Ontario, Clinical Director for Special Smiles: Special Olympics Ontario.
When not working Maheen enjoys swimming, Zumba workouts and travelling the world with her family.
